Murder Mystery
Murder mystery dinners are an ever-popular way of giving guests a little extra when they stay or dine. They know they will get good food and wine but we can now guarantee them a thrilling and fun evening’s entertainment too.
The acting company
Pretty Clever has put together a tried and tested troupe of actors that can cope with any situation. All experienced ad-libbers they mingle with the guests almost unnoticed until the action starts. The troupe is local to the south coast and includes fully fledged magicians, cabaret singers, stunt performers and comedians who spice up the mystery play. Beautiful women, crazy characters and believable fun for everyone.
The play
Each mystery can either be tailor-made around a particular company (for corporate events) or themed for a seasonal event. (ie Halloween, Christmas etc). We carefully craft each story to give clues and threads for the diners to follow. The best successes are when the mystery can be enjoyed by diners who are also in character. Staging a prohibition evening, an end of school dance or a Piratical night allows diners to dress up and really feel part of the entertainment. All we need are just a few details about a client to create a murder mystery that anyone can relate too. The leader of our infamous team of actors is a skilled comedy compere and is able to control each evening from the centre and ensure it runs smoothly in time with serving of dinner. A night to remember for every guest who takes part.
The props
There is a knife which draws fake blood. There are guns that fire fake bullets. There are bottles and chairs that can be safely smashed over victim’s heads. There can be severed hands, fingers and even heads for the more gruesome mystery nights.
The set up
Each mystery play contains the following elements. A comedy master of ceremonies who remains in character throughout, One early corpse victim, at least one ravishingly attractive and flirtatious woman, a handsome leading man, two other character actors and – on specialised request – a magician or top musician woven into the plot. They can be staged over an entire weekend or performed on one night.
