Today was a perfect day to end the season at Brighton Race Course – sunshine, great company and whats more our hosts and partners, Hardings Catering, put on a fine spread.  With a mouth watering guinea fowl terrine to start, a choice of boeuf bourguignon or chicken and chorizo for main and then a stunning trio of desserts we were all smiling – now all we needed was to pick ourselves a few winners!

Horse racing can be really exciting to watch and can be emotionally charged. For me though its a bit of fun – even with some inside info from the local tipster and a lesson in tic tac toe it still confuses me. I find my lucky streak usually stems from the colour of the outfit I might be wearing that day and whether or not there is a jockey racing that is sporting the same colours as me! Yeah, am afraid on this one I might fall into the stereotypical ‘female’ punter, sorry! I realise that this is not necessarily the most ‘conventional’ of methods but you know what, it does actually work for me, ok, so not all the time but I was jumping up and down in the last race when my horse ‘Daddys Girl’ came in first, defying all odds and winning me a healthy £65 – heh heh! Not bad for a £3 bet…

So with 3 wins under my belt and a scrummy yummy meal I really can say I’ve had a great day and I highly recommend a bit of corporate hospitality and a day out at the races. Roll on next season I say and thanks Dean 🙂
