Maybe a good place to start would be to determine what exactly the definition of a celebrity is? I feel sure that most of us have differing opinions! According to Wikipedia ‘A celebrity is a person who has a prominent profile and commands a great degree of public fascination and influence in day-to-day media.’ I chuckle – you see following last night’s ‘I’m a celebrity’ I fail to see how some of the ‘personalities’ demand that ‘’great degree of public fascination’ that Wikipedia talks about.

OK, I’m a girl and TOWIE star Mark Wright is definitely a grand piece of eye candy in my opinion; whilst I don’t watch the show I am told that there are many people that follow TOWIE so I guess he could be deemed a celebrity.  Then there is Corries Sean who as leapt from cobbles to cobwebs and whom I adore already. With the emotions he displayed on entering the jungle I think Sean is going to get a heap of support. Dougie Pointer I had to google (am I showing my age here), I think he will definitely win a mass of votes from the younger female audience and so far has come across as being a very nice ‘boy next door’ type of guy. Lorraine chase is more in my memories from the 70’s iconic series Worzle Gummidge, apparently today best known for her stint in Emmerdale. Apparently looking for love – please!

Crissy Rocks, the teeth incident all very unfortunate and didn’t do a lot for her image on entering the jungle, Sure it was all due to health and safety but still….. I am also hoping she doesn’t ingratiate her cabaret queen tendencies on the viewers – Crissy a celeb? I’m not so sure. The same applies to Jessica Jane Clement – celebrity? Really? Come on ITV, you’re scraping the barrel a little. Yes, Jessica  is gorgeous, BUT celebrity I think not….*rubs chin* but maybe that’s what this is all about. Not so famous people getting back into the limelight or seeking fame.

Fatima Whitbread and Willie Carson are the token sports personalities and personally I think both will add something positive to the show.  I want to say more but think I will reserve judgement for the time being. Then finally we have Stephanie Powers and Freddie Starr; Stephanie whilst charming, is going to be challenging for sure, from the word go she has muscled in as leader of the pack – will it continue? We’re yet to find out but I think the charm might be short lived and I cant help thinking that its all at face value. Freddie – well according to the newspapers today has already been rushed out of the jungle due to a severe allergic reaction, maybe it had something to do with the quantity of jungle bugs he consumed in last night’s trial – painful to watch. I don’t know what to think of Freddie yet, He will either be a total nausea and cringe worthy to watch or a nice guy that adds some humour to the show. We will see.

I like the show so much that last year we recreated a themed team building event based around the jungle called ‘I’m NOT a Celebrity’. Why people like it  so much I don’t know, maybe its because the element of danger is always there, albeit controlled…

Do you think you have what it takes to handle scary animals or massive spiders, or eat weird food – some of it with legs – BLINDFOLD?! Then get in touch, our Celeb-themed team building challenge is definitely for you…
