…and party we did! Pretty Clever Events organised a spring ball for one of our corporate clients at a hotel near Gatwick Airport and the theme was London and the Olympics!
Our team arrived at the venue on a sunny Saturday morning, which is always a good start to the day and gets everyone in good mood.

We had some amazing props for this event, for example, an authentic full-sized red telephone box (Kat and Sam pictured testing it out!); we could actually go inside and pretend to make a telephone call in a delightfully old-fashioned way! We also set up Big Ben (not quite to scale) and a black London cab! The venue looked like a little Westminster in the heart of Gatwick.
The blue, red and white table centres completed the picture and as well as the Olympic theme, gave a Jubilee feel to the day. In keeping with the sporting theme, we brought in athletic mannequins – you can see me and Kat running along with them below!
It took us the best part of the day to arrange and rearrange the props into position and soon it was arrival time. It was lovely to be asked to join the tables for dinner and to circulate with the clients and their guests. Much wine and spirits were enjoyed and because we events girls always remain sober, it was great fun watching everyone enjoying themselves on the dance floor at the end of the night.
We organised amazing live acts, which went down extremely well with our client: An aerial artist, with amazing flexibility, hula-hoop act – we were in awe of this one, how on earth did she do that? Finally a fire act completed the evening’s live entertainment, although we did have to turn the fire alarms off for a while for this one! Again amazingly talented acts, thoroughly enjoyed by all!

We started to de-rig immediately after the last guest took their leave and managed to finish an hour later with everything packed away. Then way after the Cinderella hour – at 3pm, we tiptoed off to our welcoming beds. Another successful event by Pretty Clever and very happy clients too showering us with compliments – which is what we like and what we are here for!
