A really different feel to the enquiries flooding into the Pretty Clever offices this week, via our Clever Destinations department, DMC London – and I do mean flooding. We can only just keep up!
Christmas parties and bookings seem to have just about run their course now, with most clients either booked and sorted, or avoiding the whole thing completely, so it’s been a refreshing change to be fielding different requests, and interestingly almost all of them in the past week are incentives and have come from overseas
Yes, inbound business seems to be on the up. In the past few days we’ve had enquiries in from Germany, France, the US and Poland for inbound incentives. Mainly heading for London, these groups are looking for exciting and dynamic activities – with a heavy bias towards technology and digital integration – and we’ve had requests for projection mapping, Ipad-based treasure hunts and digitally interactive team building. Gala dinners are back on the agenda and so is high end contemporary dining – we’ve been having great fun putting together some exciting programs.
The really interesting bit here is the level of budget these groups have to spend. These are good budgets, with a requirement for 4 or 5 star accommodation – and we’ve seen a real leaning towards ‘getting it right’ rather than ‘getting it cheap’. The recession isn’t over by a long shot, but the enquiries we’re taking at the moment reflect a more positive leaning, there’s no doubt about it. And great to see London being chosen as a preferred incentive destination – the Olympic effect perhaps?
