It’s that apocalyptic week before Christmas where supermarket shopping becomes a race for survival. Good luck if you’re out this weekend, and don’t forget to pick up a 2016 calendar – an item often overlooked in the chaos.
I bought mine yesterday, Coastal Scenes (it was either that or Official Cliff Richard), and as I flipped through it, pencilling in the odd birthday and event, I wondered what surprises lay in wait for Pretty Clever. I also looked through this year’s calendar, and found myself reminiscing over some truly remarkable events…
Interactive fun at our Apres Ski themed night
This month saw our two biggest gigs of the year. One client journeyed back to the golden age of Hollywood with a black and white themed awards night. A red carpet and glowing red pillars lined the entrance, leading off to an LED lit chill-out room and the main dining area. Last Friday, we put on an alpine Après Ski themed party for a massive 600 in the largest suite of the Hilton Brighton Metropole. Long tables were adorned with party hats and mini Christmas trees, with bags of tinsel for guests to decorate them with. Benches were covered in cosy fur throws and surrounded by snow-tipped Christmas trees (the snow was offered to us from the latest James Bond set! Waste not, want not as they say!) Our delightful Oompah Band topped off the night, getting everybody up and jiving to some classic Christmas numbers.
Back in May, one of our overseas clients and her large group of sports loving guests went powerboating from Brighton Marina on an adrenaline-fuelled team build. The strong winds added to the height of the waves – and the level of fun! After building up a healthy appetite, they finished with a delicious barbeque at the Hotel Seattle as the sun sank over the distant city. Bliss…
In October, some Belgian clients touched down in Birmingham for three days jam-packed with team activities. Our popular City Explorer Treasure Hunt opened their eyes to the sites, followed by lunch in their own private room with unparalleled views. Their glowing review of the experience was the cherry on the cake – a happy client equals happy organisers!
In previous years, a large proportion of our business was based in the south of England, however this year, we were excited to have done a lot more further north, from corporate hospitality days to pharmaceutical conferences. Dates are already in the diary for next year, and even as far as 2017 (doesn’t mean we can’t help you guys though!)
